NASA's Crew-12 Is Back on Earth After 237 Days in Space
NASA's SpaceX Crew-12 splashed down in the Pacific off the coast of Los Angeles on Thursday, October 8, at 11:34 a.m. Eastern. On board the Dragon spacecraft were NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev. They launched to the International Space Station on February 13 and spent 237 days in space running research and experiments. Their replacements, the four members of Crew-13, docked with the station on October 1, so the handoff was already done before they left.
I follow these missions because so much of the work happens right here. NASA astronauts live and train in the Houston area, and the people who support them from the ground work out of Johnson Space Center in Clear Lake. When a crew comes home safely, a lot of our neighbors had a hand in it. It is one of the reasons the Bay Area communities around the space center hold their value the way they do, with steady demand from people who want a short drive to work.
If you work at Johnson Space Center or for one of the contractors nearby and you are thinking about buying or selling in Clear Lake, League City, Webster or Friendswood, I would be glad to walk you through what homes are going for right now.
